Electrically activated control valves are standard equipment facilitating efficient yet flexible operation. Through simple adjustment of limit switch trip bars, shear blade down stroke & return are easily changed to maximize efficiency for each material size. Multiple material types may be used on each shear due to the design of easily interchanged die frames. The controls are developed to run in either a manual "Jog" mode or automatic cycle "Run" mode.

The Jog Mode allows complete control of the shear piston in the up or down direction. This mode is intended to be used for setting limit switch settings and checking die clearances. The Run Mode allows the operator to automatically cycle the shear for each cut to save time. Control operation is specially designed with operator safety in mind.

Modular shear dies can be designed and quoted based on the required application. Standard die types include Round Bar, Flat Bar, Angle Iron, Square Bar, Square Tubing, and Press Break. Other tonnage's are also available upon request.

Heavy Plate Shears (5000 Series)

 

 

These shears were designed to cut plate or flat bar to a desired length. The shearing is done with single cut blades that produce no slugs. The upper blade and cylinder are designed with a 2° slope. The upper blade also contains a ½ per foot rake. These two factors ensure a clean cut while increasing blade life. The lower cutting die blade is adjustable to allow proper blade clearance. These shears are also modular in design to allow incorporation into CNC plate lines if needed.
